FAQs

Why should I put my charity on My Tzedakah Fund?

My Tzedakah Fund is unique in its ability to give you exposure without you having to do your own marketing and budgeting. Our goal is to help the next generation of Jewish people to get into the habit of donating to charities that are meaningful to them, and making it a part of their lives. Additionally, once a donor chooses to donate to your charity through our platform, they are a donor for life - the recurring payment will continue as long as we continue.

While charities can still rely on their roster of donors, eventually they will need to learn how to attract the millennial generation, who are unfamiliar and unwilling to write large checks and attend fancy dinners. Our platform is build FOR that donor and your charity can directly benefit.

Will my charity have a relationship with the donors?

Yes - My Tzedakah Fund requires that each charity reaches out to the donors to thank them and form a relationship with them. Unless otherwise instructed by each individual donor, My Tzedakah Fund will provide the name and email address of each donor who donates to your charity. The goal for this is for the donors to feel they have a relationship and a direct connection to the charities they donate to.

Does my charity have to provide tax receipts?

No - charities do not have to provide receipts to the donors. Because My Tzedakah Fund is a 501c3, we provide the donors with their tax receipts.

Is there anything My Tzedakah Fund requires from the charities?

1. You must be an American 501c3, or have an American Board that can receive your donations.
2. Create a stripe account to collect the donations through our server
3. Provide marketing content to My Tzedakah Fund to help us get your organization attention
4. Contact the donor with a thank you at the end of the month or year.

What is stripe and why do we use it?

Stripe is a technology company that builds economic infrastructure for the internet. Businesses of every size—from new startups to public companies—use our software to accept payments and manage their businesses online. You can learn more about them and their security here: https://stripe.com/ie/privacy

We use stripe to transfer money directly from the donors to your charities bank accounts. Stripe requires that you fill in some basic information about your charity and its 501c3 status. My Tzedakah Fund has it’s own stripe account and when the 2 stripe accounts are connected, the money flows directly from the donor, through our account where we redistribute it so that the charities receive 100% of the donation in one batch, once a month (on the 10th). Stripe is the most secure and highest rated online payment processing company.
